Marriage: I chose compliments. I planned to compliment my husband more often. And so I did. Even though I didn't always feel like it. Even though some days were tough. And my evaluation? Beautiful things happen when you are constantly looking for the good in someone you love, my friend!
Parenting: I needed to let my older boys make their own choices. You know, like not give them one thousand reminders before 8 am. I planned to bite my tongue. And so I did.
Well, let's be honest. I tried my hardest and followed through most of the time. Parenting is not a breeze and perfection is not necessary in this pie recipe! As I evaluated my efforts in these situations, I could see it was far better more beneficial for them to experience the natural consequences of their choices than my constant nagging.
Work: Oh the plans I have. Process docs galore. They are important to me and my team. They are why things run so smoothly in my business and how I keep my sanity. They are also how we grow and make things better for our customers.
Might I declare that you simply cannot have a business project without pie?!
Finances: We make a budget. We stick to it. Again, perfection not necessary. But then we sit down and get comfortable with that budget every month to evaluate things we might need to adjust.
Health: Story time. Pie and health, I know. Sounds contradicting.
I have always been a runner. Erin "the runner girl" Chase. I thought that I was a pretty good runner too. Decent pace, long distances, etc. I did it for the enjoyment and the challenge.
But once upon a time I started going to a gym that used a monitor. With the tracking they provided, I started to see the areas where I wasn’t getting the results I was hoping for. That tracking helped hold me accountable and helped challenge me. I can now confidently say I am more well-rounded in my fitness due to this delightful pie.
My challenge to you is….
How can you bake this pie into your life?? Find at least one area in your life you can begin infiltrating this recipe into.
Accomplishment and confidence, here we come!!
