The Uniform Closet
My kids wear uniforms to school. There's four boys that need uniforms every school day. It is too many uniform pieces to keep track of! That is too many mornings of chaos due to misplaced socks and belts and pants, oh my!
So I did a thing. I made the effort to clean out a coat closet so that only uniform items are stored there. Each kid has their own section in the closet. Everyone lives happily ever after. Not only does this help smooth things over in the mornings, it has helped tremendously with laundry!
And speaking of laundry...
I'm thinking my kids are not the only ones who leave towels and stinky clothes all over the floor, counters and dressers?!
So I did another thing. I helped my kids get into the habit of bringing their laundry to the laundry room every day. Less stink. Less yelling. Less chaos.
On to the kitchen...
I love a clean, uncluttered kitchen. It's like a blank slate for me to create delicious things in! So the kids help put their dishes in the sink, and I make sure to buzz through at the end of the day to make sure everything is cleaned. And ahh, there's just nothing like walking into a clean kitchen in the morning!
The only thing better than walking into a clean kitchen is not having to worry about dinner. Which is where make ahead freezer meals come in handy and let me tell you they are game changers!
Freezer meals are the ultimate dinner hack.
How these types of hacks help everyone...
It is almost magical how efficiency can affect the entire family! It seriously changes the whole dynamic of our family. And yes, it takes some work. It involves training and reminding our little people of how to do these things. But the fruit of that labor is plentiful in the long run!
P.S. Don't try to do ten different hacks at once. Pick one, focus on it and don't move to the next one until it's been mastered.
