I work hard to rest.
I do this so I don’t hit the physical wall of running myself ragged.
I want to challenge YOU to be more intentional with your rest and renewal.
How to Rest When Life Seems to Hinder It
This episode is part 2 of the Intentional Body Series here on the Erin Chase Show.
We are flipping to the rest and renewal side of your health and wellness.
Because after you move, you need to rest.
(If you haven't listened to part 1, you can do that here.)
I work hard to rest.
I do this so I don’t hit the physical wall of running myself ragged.
I want to challenge YOU to be more intentional with your rest and renewal.
I'd like to talk about three different types of rest.
BODY - MIND - SOUL
How to give your BODY the rest it needs
It is really important that you are giving your body the physical rest that it needs. Coaches build in rest days for their athletes, and we need to build our rest in too! Rest after a work out. Rest after a grief period or experiencing anxiety.
There’s all these different things that are competing for our body’s energy and attention. Pay attention to the queues your body is giving to you that it needs rest, and LISTEN to that.
How to give your MIND the rest it needs:
Your first thought here might be mindlessly scrolling social media, or binge watching a show. But, that is really more of a mind escape and what we are talking about here is a true mind rest.
Some options for resting your mind are: meditation, yoga, prayer, a walk in nature, having a deep conversation with a trusted friend.
How to give your SOUL the rest it needs:
This type of rest is a little different because it is usually accomplished outside of your day-to-day life.
It typically involves some type of getaway or retreat.
Yes, this also means it requires some funds. You might need to get creative in how you are going to make it happen.
Kid swap with a friend to get away with your spouse? Maybe you know someone who has a vacation home that would let you stay one night for free or at a discounted rate?!
